Passionate about Culture - Celebrating Culture Club's anniversary
Stacy Hall, Director of Communications, One NorthEast said:
"Through the 'Passionate people. Passionate places' campaign the
region's strong cultural identity is playing a vital role in promoting
North East England, putting it on the map and raising its profile
locally, nationally and internationally.
The North East is passionate about culture recognising the benefits and
impact it has on the region's creative community and tourist economy.
North East England is fortunate to have such a wealth of cultural and
natural assets and the region is making the most of them in developing a
distinctive and positive image. In the last five years, the region has
achieved a new status as one of the world's most creative places and it
is continuing to establish itself as an international destination,
placing culture and creativity at the heart of its regeneration.
As a region we need to take advantage of our cultural heritage, by
building on the cultural facilities and attractions across the North
East. We have to get the message across to the rest of the country and
the world and we must not forget that one of the biggest assets of the
region, and an integral part of the culture of North East England, is
its passionate people. The 'Passionate people. Passionate places'
campaign's support for Culture and Culture Club is recognition of the
region's cultural strengths and the many people who daily demonstrate
how they are 'Passionate about culture'."
